The first person to ever
send me their music to review was Hypocrite In A Hippy Crypt, the project of a
man who chooses to keep his identity hidden. His self titled album was full of
brilliant pop-rock acoustic and electric guitar riffs, mixed with relaxed
vocals to create the perfect soundtrack for the summer. Now Hypocrite In A
Hippy Crypt returns with a cassette full of old B-sides and demos, all recorded
in his basement and with a number of USB microphones.
The tape, All I Ask Ya, Alaska, is currently
available to purchase for $5 here. Bits is the only track grabbed from this
tape to be placed on Bandcamp and is available to download for free too. It’s a
real relaxed tune, which is to be expected from Hypocrite In A Hippy Crypt,
with a lax guitar riff setting up the slow tempo’d atmosphere, the song is soon
joined with the slacked vocals to create yet another great song for the summer.
The guitar solo that follows is also wonderful, and I really cannot wait to
check out the rest of All I Ask Ya, Alaska.
