Sadly, The King Blues are no more. After eight years and three albums, the band decided to call it a day on the 3rd of April. This news came as a huge shock to fans, especially as the Blues still have an album release due in July, Long Live The Struggle, of which Modern Life Has Let Me Down is the first single to be released from.
Like much of the Blues previous music, the track mixes punky instrumentals with catchy choruses, thought-provoking lyrics and a whole bagful of attitude from lead singer Johnny "Itch" Fox. The song is politically charged with Itch decrying the state of life today.
If you are familiar with other King Blues music, don't expect a vast change from the norm. By no means does this imply that Modern Life Has Let Me Down is a bad song - in fact, quite the opposite. By continuing the style that the Blues devised on Under The Fog, honed on Save The World, Get The Girl and further improved on Punk & Poetry, the King Blues appear poised to bow out in style when Long Live The Struggle is released on July 2 of this year.
