After coming off a hugely
successful sell-out tour last month, London/Leeds seven piece Submotion
Orchestra has released the video for new single It’s Not Me It’s You, and it’s
pretty ace. It features awesome camera work displaying close-ups of many
instruments, a woman covered in tribal stuff, oh and the singer Ruby busting
out a few shapes too.
It’s Not Me It’s You has a
certain reverb quality to it that makes it sound quite earthy, which I believe
is what the band’s sound was on the debut album. This time however, it’s been
paired against some addictive bass, catchy synthesisers and sliced up vocals to
help it sound nightclub and mainstream friendly. It also features some pretty
slinky trumpet action too which fits in really well with the slightly relaxed
atmosphere.
It’s a great track and I
can’t wait to hear how the rest of the new album sounds, especially if
Submotion Orchestra has managed to pull off this progressively radio-friendly sound
well.
