Youth Sounds - Burn Out

New Orleans’ band Youth Sounds were featured on Little Comments a while back as a band to look out for. Well now they’ve released new single Burn Out, a track that encompasses everything great and nostalgic about Youth Sounds to create yet another solid track and another reason as to why you should check them out.

The rich production allows the synthesisers to create a really sweet beat which swells and pulsates all over the place, and the beautifully breathy vocals from Erika Mejia make me think I’m floating in space wearing nothing but armbands.

The way the instrumentation seems to just float around, enveloping the disco-y drums during the verses before finally progressing into this airy soundscape of catchy synths which take over the entire track. This makes Burn Out quite possibly my favourite track by Youth Sounds, and I cannot wait to hear their new album, Favors.

Youth Sounds also released a Spanish version of Burn Out, called Sin Ti, and have also launched a kickstarter campaign to allow fans to help fund the completion of their new album.
