Genna
Marabese is a singer-songwriter from Bedforeshire, and this is her second
single Masquerade, and it’s pretty darn good. This new track follows on from
debut We Are Animals, we saw considerable support from radio stations across
the nation, and with her style of producing some incredibly catchy underground
indie rock music, and it’s not hard to see why.
The
straight forward gritty guitar riff lays down a catchy groove that remains
throughout the track, and is accompanied by some slightly distorted drums which
certainly fit in with the edgier output. Genna’s vocals are embedded into the
sound which thickens it up, and it certainly help drives the track forwards.
It’s
definitely a grower but once you’ve heard it a few times it becomes
infectiously good. The aforementioned guitar riff will forever remain as a very
catchy riff, and for that Masquerade will always be seen as a very catchy and
good track from Genna Marabese. Fans of Siouxsie & The Banshees definitely
need to check out this track, and well, everybody else should too.
