Released: 10/12/2012
Over a month ago I
reviewed the cassingle split between Runaround Kids and The Spills, two bands
that offered two brilliant tracks to help boost Bitching Cassettes’ revival by giving
it a very strong first release. Now the
guys are back with Teeth Blue, Lips Red a collection of the singles they have
been putting out throughout this year while touring relentlessly in support of
them.
What we have here is a
bunch of heavy, emotive songs performed through the gutsiest of vocals and the catchiest
of guitars. Every track is full of emotion, whether it’s sourced through the
guitar or the drums or the tonsil strained gusto behind the vocals, each listen
brings home a different shade of emotion, and it’s great. They are heavy
material, yet somehow get off with being described as ‘hardcore-tinged pop
songs’ because of how accessible they are.
It’s a great way to cap
off what has been a tough and productive year for Runaround Kids. Teeth Blue,
Lips Red certainly feature some of the best material the band has produced so
far, and as a whole it adds another brilliant release to the short discography
of Runaround Kids, and I can’t wait to hear more.

Also, you should encourage him to execute at your new Aspen funny event. Seriously.
