FINALLY we have some new
music from post-punkers Iceage. I’ve been dying to hear new material from these
guys ever since they burst onto the scene with debut New Brigade in 2011. Coalition is the first piece of music heard
from their forthcoming album You’re
Nothing, and after already being stripped of my self esteem by the albums title;
Coalition comes along afterwards and punches my face off in the most sonically
satisfying way possible.
Complete with huge guitar
riffs torn apart by distortion, synths which cut through the dirt like a surgical
tool and vocals that get rougher by the lyric, Coalition is one hell of a ballsy
listen, and one that increases the anticipation for the new record. Coalition
is awesome and if Iceage can deliver
the goods in two minutes, I can’t even begin to imagine how good You’re Nothing is going to be. Look out
for it on 19th February via Matador Records.
