Free Download Of The Day: Hearts & Plugs - Hearts & Plugs Sampler Vol 2

Hearts & Plugs are possibly my favourite record label around lately. The young independent label has acquired the talents of Brave Baby, Run Dan Run and The Lovely Few – and more – and all of them have released stellar material to help get their label off to a strong start. They have just released their second label sampler, and with it featuring tracks from the aforementioned, and more from artists such as Mr. Jenkins and ELIM BOLT, making it impossible not to check out.

Brave Baby, Run Dan Run and The Lovely Few have all featured on Elusive Little Comments, and all of them have received positive reviews for their albums and EPs so it was a welcome treat to see their tracks featured on this sampler. ELIM BOLT also seem very good baring strong similarities to the feel good American sound of Brave Baby, whereas Mr. Jenkins offers a much more original, experimental sound with sampler-exclusive tracks Suddenly, I Don’t Feel So Afraid and the much more accessible You’re Free.

This is a brilliant sampler and a great way for anyone to get into one of the best indie labels out there right now. I expect Hearts & Plugs to continue increasing their roster and to sign some real good bands this year, and I can’t wait to see them grow into one of the biggest labels around.
