‘I Get Lonely’ is the new single from nine piece group Saskwatch, and it’s pretty amazing. These guys are a soul band but this song seems to take garage rock and blend it together with 60s surf rock and soul and come out with something beautiful and ridiculously fun.
First impressions are false as this track starts off with a catchy garage rock riff but instantly floods it with synth and suddenly we have ourselves an infectious surf rock tune. Frontwoman Nkechi Anele’s vocals are an absolute joy to hear as she freaking goes HARD on projecting as much passion and excitement into her voice to fit with the bouncy, fun loving instrumentation.
There are all kinds of horns thrown into the music as well to make it nigh on impossible to dislike. ‘I Get Lonely’ is definitely one of the catchiest songs of the year, and it’s just brilliant.
